In its 37th year, Prairie Hill Waldorf School has an enrollment of 200 children, preschool through Grade 8 as well as parent-infant and parent-child playgroups. We are a fully accredited member school of the Association Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), the State of Wisconsin, and the North Central Association (NCA) Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The school is located just 30 miles west of Milwaukee and 45 miles east of the university town of Madison in the beautiful lake district of Delafield.

We offer a salary and benefit package that can include tuition remission, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and optional dental insurance. We also have additional funding earmarked for teacher professional development and mentoring.

Kindergarten Lead Teacher 2025/2026


As the Lead teacher of up to 18 children, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a Waldorf curriculum and are required to show a willingness to obtain a Waldorf Certificate from Great Lakes Waldorf Institute.

Grade 1 Lead Teacher 2025/2026


The teacher will work collaboratively within the Grades department. We seek candidates who are committed to the values of Waldorf education, a teacher who is joyful and warm, with strong interpersonal communication skills, effective classroom management, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning

Pedagogical Chair


The Pedagogical Chair, working out of a model of servant leadership, works closely with faculty, addresses concerns as they arise or directs them through the proper channels, helping information to flow smoothly and ensures joint forums of conversation.

Spanish Grades Teacher


The right candidate will teach two to three 50-minute periods for each grade, one through eight, and attend a weekly mentor meeting with the other specialty faculty.

Strings Teacher -  Part Time


The Strings Teacher can expect to work two days a week in Grades 4-8 when school is in session. The candidate’s teaching repertoire should include classical and traditional folk or world music styles as well as notation for 5th grade and older.

Substitute Teacher


The substitute will provide support and structure to the classroom when the scheduled teacher cannot be present. Hours vary from 8:15 to 3:35 Monday – Friday as needed.
