Mike Buchta
Physical Education and Sports Coodinator
Mike Buchta has worked for 13 years with people with developmental disabilities, teaching everyday living skills and community integration. He is a certified baseball coach, has coached basketball and track for several years at Prairie Hill as well as substituted in the Woodwork class. Mike attended Carroll College and received his BA in Sociology.
Mr. Buchta brings his sportsmanship into his position by striving for 100% participation by being a model of enthusiasm and hard work while encouraging teamwork and cooperation. His teaching philosophy revolves around supporting the overall development of the students sense of movement through gross motor controls, balance and spatial awareness.

Children are meant to be active, their bodies crave movement and to expend energy in fun and productive ways.
