There is something truly special about a Saturday morning in downtown Waukesha. Between the smell of fresh-baked bread, the vibrant colors of local produce, and the hum of our local community coming together, it’s the perfect place to share the “magic” of Waldorf education.
We are thrilled to announce that Prairie Hill is back at the Waukesha Farmer’s Market this season! You can find us at the Family Tent, where we’re bringing hands-on, soul-nourishing activities to the heart of our city.
Crafting with Intention
This past weekend, our booth was a hive of activity as children and families joined us to create two Waldorf staples: Window Stars and Felted Soap.
Vibrant Window Stars: Using colorful kite paper, visitors learned the meditative art of folding to create beautiful geometric stars. These stars are a beloved tradition in our classrooms, designed to catch the sunlight and bring a warm, rhythmic glow into any home.
Felted Soap: A sensory delight! By wrapping bars of soap in soft wool roving and using warm water and friction, participants created “built-in washcloths.” It’s a wonderful way for children to experience the transformation of natural fibers while creating something practical and beautiful.
Meet the Faculty
Beyond the crafting, these mornings are about connection. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and meet new friends. A special thank you to Mrs. Malik and her team of volunteers for hosting such an inviting space. Whether you’re a current Prairie Hill family or someone curious about what makes our curriculum so unique, we love having the chance to chat and share more about our school’s mission.
Come Visit Us!
Didn’t make it this time? Don’t worry! We’ll be appearing at the market throughout the season. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for upcoming dates.
Stop by the Family Tent, say hello to our teachers, and take a little piece of Prairie Hill home with you. We can’t wait to see you there!
