Josefine Sjöblom Kindergarten Assistant

Shanna Ross

Grades Teacher

Shanna has dedicated more than 15 years to education. She holds a degree in Elementary Education from St. Norbert College. She has taught in American standards-based international schools in China and Qatar, and is certified in the PYP (Primary Years Programme) and the Reggio Emilia approach. She has had the privilege of teaching preschool, kindergarten, second grade, and serving as an EAL support teacher. She recently returned to Wisconsin and is completing her LifeWays Early Childhood Certificate.

Shanna fell in love with the Waldorf approach as a Prairie Hill parent, watching her children thrive at summer camp in the years before she moved home. Her philosophy is rooted in nurturing the whole child, and she believes her role is to guide children on their journey of becoming who they are meant to be. Childhood is a magical window of time, one that should be cherished, protected, and filled with joy and wonder. She is now delighted to join the Prairie Hill community as a teacher!

Outside of school, you might find her running, hiking, collecting nature treasures, or traveling with her family.
